Support for the territory and promotion of birth rates

Always committed to social causes, the Plastic-Puglia Group promotes a more equitable and cohesive society, with deep attention to the territory where it was born. Linked to the community of Monopoli, the Group has carried out important works of solidarity, such as the donation of a large votive edicola to the Madonna della Madia, the city’s protector, and the redevelopment of an area of the city cemetery transformed into a well-kept and welcoming garden.

Among the initiatives for the territory, the Floro-Faunistic Garden stands out, a 10,000 m² area within the production complex, which hosts habitats for plants and animals from around the world and is open free of charge to schools and citizens, contributing to spreading respect for nature.

A supporter of family values, the Group has established the Lilly Colucci Birth Award, in memory of Paola Lilly Colucci, offering employees financial support of €6,000 for each child born, plus €300 per month for one year, a unique initiative in Italy that has strengthened the bond with the territory.

The "Lilly Colucci" Humanitarian Association.

The “Lilly Colucci” Humanitarian Association was established on Dec. 19, 2019, with the intention of honoring the memory of the late Paola Lilly Colucci (1973-2019), former administrative director of the Plastic-Puglia Industrial Group, a distinguished businesswoman and a woman of high moral qualities. The goal is to perpetuate her life teaching, marked by altruism, generosity and dedication to people in need. The president of the Association is Dr. Miriam Colucci, Lilly’s sister, while Baron Vitantonio Colucci serves as Honorary President.

The Association is non-profit and pursues humanitarian, civic, solidaristic and socially useful purposes. The volunteer project includes health counseling activities provided by volunteer physicians from numerous specialist branches to the weaker sections of society. The Association is home to a “Health Support Desk,” which provides free specialist examinations to citizens with an ISEE of less than 8000 euros.

Solidarity, support, listening

The association organizes charity initiatives, long-distance support, and the free provision of essential goods and services to disadvantaged people. The Association has also established a “Listening Center” managed by expert volunteers with the aim of providing hospitality, help, and psychological support on issues related to family, work, social hardship, and health.

It is the headquarters of the Monopoli delegation of the “Lega Italiana per la Lotta ai Tumori” (L.I.L.T.), the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer, where Baron Colucci serves as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Museum of Rural Civilization

The Museum of Peasant Civilization, established by Baron Vitantonio Colucci in 1975, is located within the Plastic-Puglia industrial complex. There are collected and exhibited more than 300 pieces including work tools, means of transport, tools and objects of the past, some of them very rare and valuable for the testimony they offer of an era not so far back in time, but, it can be said, completely unknown to the youth of today.

Through a vast collection of agricultural tools, artisanal instruments, and everyday objects, the Museum offers an authentic glimpse into rural life of the past. The exhibitions are curated in every detail to represent every aspect of peasant life, from agricultural practices to domestic life. Visitors can explore ancient farming techniques, discover the hard work of peasants in the fields, and understand the importance of the cycle of seasons.

Many of these historical artifacts have belonged to the Colucci family and attest to an ancient farming tradition that the Baron has always proudly claimed, and they have even more value when placed within a company that has made support for agricultural labor and drip irrigation systems its corporate mission.

From the visit to the Museum, which is free and has always been open to local schoolchildren, one leaves deeply moved and emotional, with an awareness of the sacrifices experienced by our ancestors to pass on to us the culture of well-being that allows us to live in the comforts of today.

The National Team of the Heart Actors and Singers

Plastic-Puglia proudly supports the “Goal of the Heart” charity events, which feature actors and singers from the Heart National Team of Actors and Singers. These events are presided over by Grand Officer Baron Vitantonio Colucci, President of the National Team, always committed to promoting solidarity and support initiatives for those in need. Grand Officer Baron Vitantonio Colucci , President of the National Team, always committed to promoting solidarity and support initiatives for those in need.

The events, organized with the exclusive goal of raising funds for charity, represent a symbol of altruism and commitment to others. An unforgettable figure who marked the history of the National Team of the Heart Actors and Singers is the late Totò Schillaci, the historic captain, whose enthusiasm and charisma inspired supporters and participants.

Plastic-Puglia, through its connection with the Heart National Team of Actors and Singers, continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the values of solidarity, teamwork, and the common good, renewing its bond with the community and the principles that guide these high-impact social events.

The Botanical Garden

The Plastic-Puglia Industrial Group is surrounded by greenery, with large areas adorned with lawns; all areas are landscaped in every detail and is a rare example in the Italian business landscape of how such an important industrial activity can coexist with nature.

A firm believer that work should be well combined with the plant and animal world, creating well-being and satisfaction, always passionate about flora and fauna, an environmentalist and lover of the land, Grand Officer Colucci has created within the company a 10,000 m² area where he has developed an important Botanical Garden that boasts plants of great value. In the complex, there are 280 Aleppo pine trees.

The Garden is inspired, desired, and dedicated to the memory of Lilly Colucci, the unforgettable administrative director of the Group, who passed away prematurely in 2019 at the age of 45.

The Faunistic Garden

In the heart of the Plastic-Puglia Industrial Village, among factories and industrial infrastructure, lies an unexpected treasure: a faunistic garden that hosts over 300 rare animals, housed in environments that recreate their natural habitat.

This corner of uncontaminated nature is an oasis of tranquility and beauty, an escape from the frenzy of modern life and a testament to the regenerative power of nature. It is proof, unique in Italy, of how there can be balance between industry and the environment. Here industrial development takes into account the importance of environmental sustainability.

In the same area, the largest aviary in a private garden has been built, 20 meters high and 15 meters wide, where prized and rare birds live.

School groups and the many guests who periodically visit the Faunistic Garden learn the importance of nature conservation, get to know the creatures that populate the Earth better, and develop greater respect and awareness of the environmental challenges that young generations are called to face.

Both the Fauna Garden and the Botanical Garden are used free of charge by educational institutions in the area for educational purposes as evidenced by the photos that populate this section of the book.
